As you may already know, the fires caused by lightning during the dry thunderstorms two weeks ago are still being fought, and firefighters are still doing their best to limit the damage as much as possible. The fires came scarily close to Santa Cruz a few days after the fires began, and a few of our staff were forced to evacuate under orders. Though some of these orders have now lifted, our hearts go out to those who lost their homes and priceless family memorabilia. We wanted to make a special piece of art as a tribute to all the firefighters and first responders who are still battling the flames, animal rescue teams, and police personnel who are keeping evacuated homes safe from being looted. We are also grateful to the Santa Cruz and San Mateo communities and people who opened up their businesses or offered support, and to the people who gathered donations to purchase much-needed

supplies for the evacuees. As artists, we hope that our humble caricature drawings are able to continue to spread joy and laughter during these difficult times.
