We are ecstatic to have Chris Meesey as Guest Artist for our Knock Out 2020 New Year's Flash Sale. One of our regular visiting artists at the Cali Caricature stand on the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Meesey aka Meesimo originally comes from St. Louis, Missouri. During his early years working as a caricature artist at Six Flag, Meesey mentored under the great Tom Richmond and Ed Steckley, an auspicious start to his career in caricature.
Inspired by the art of MAD Magazine, Warner Brothers Cartoons, and Monty Python from an early age, Meesey has always had high ambitions. He has worked with multiple big names including Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags Magic Mountain, Disney, IDW, Dynamite, Blind Ferret, and more, creating character designs, storyboards, and comics. Now with 20 plus years of caricaturing under his belt, Meesey enjoys traveling around the globe from the US to New Zealand, Paris, and even Delhi to caricature at comic conventions, fairs, and carnivals.
If Meesey isn’t traveling or eating his favorite sushi, you can find him co-creating and illustrating the comic books TIME SHOPPER!, MOTLEY & HARV, KNUCKLEHEAD Comics, SWALLOW: Vampires in the Big City, PATHFINDER: Goblins, and various Ink & Drink Comics Anthologies.
